James Travis Tritt, popularly known as Travis Tritt, is an American country singer and songwriter. Between 1989 and 1999, he released seven studio albums and a greatest hits collection for Warner Bros. Records.

He recorded three studio albums for Columbia Records and one for the now-defunct Category 5 Records throughout the 2000s. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified seven of his albums platinum or higher, with 1991’s “It’s All About to Change” being triple-platinum.

Travis Tritt’s current age is 59 years old. His parents, James and Gwen Tritt, welcomed him into the world on February 9, 1963, in Marietta, Georgia.

At the age of eight, he acquired his first guitar and taught himself to play it. He learned additional songs from his uncle, Sam Lockhart when he was 14 years old. While still a student at Sprayberry High School, Tritt began creating music.

Travis Tritt’s wife, Theresa Nelson Tritt has been at his side for the past 26 years, and the couple has been married for 24 of those years. Before marrying Theresa on April 12, 1997, the country music singer was married to Karen Ryon, his high school sweetheart, and then to Jodi Barnett, who was twelve years his senior.

He divorced Jodi soon after signing with Warner Bros. in 1989, and the divorce was formalized one month before the release of his debut studio album, “Country Club,” in 1990. After his second broken marriage, Tritt was inspired to write “Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)”.

Tritt’s aspirations to be single indefinitely were shattered after meeting one extremely special woman. Theresa Nelson met Travis for the third time in 1995, and it was a match made in heaven.
