- In 1986, Daggubati Venkatesh played Vijay (the son of multimillionaire Chakrapani) in the Telugu-language masala film Kaliyuga Pandavulu and this earned him a Nandi Award in the “Best Male Debut (Special Jury Award)” category while he was also nominated for a Filmfare Award South for “Best Actor – Telugu”.
- He made his Hindi film debut as Rama in the 1993 romantic drama film Anari, a remake of the 1991 Tamil film Chinna Thambi. Venkatesh co-starred in the film alongside Karishma Kapoor.
